Bill Hartman- Owner
Bill Hartman developed a love of gardening with his father and grandmother while growing up in Garden City, Sd. After graduating from SDSU with a BS degree in Horticulture in 1983, Bill worked in a greenhouse for one year before growing vegetables and small fruits for the Downtown Farmer's Market for a number of years, during which he also started doing landscaping. Bill's Garden became a full-time landscaping business in the early 1990's, incorporating as Bill's Garden, Inc. in 2000. Bill has enjoyed fine-tuning his landscaping skills over the years , most recently adding low-voltage landscape lighting to list of services in 2011. He contunues to enjoy meeting and working with new clients as well as frequently revisiting established clients whom wish to further enhance their landscapes.
Janet Bird - Designer
Since 2008, Janet Bird has been a landscape designer with Bill’s Garden, Inc. She earned a degree in both Horticulture and Landscape Design from Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls. In addition, she earned her Master Gardener designation form the University of Illinois and the Chicago Botanic Gardens. She is a South Dakota Certified Nurseryman and also a member of the South Dakota Nursery and Landscape Association. Janet brings an appreciation for listening to customers and is inspired to incorporate an expansive palette of plants and landscape ideas to her plans. Janet enjoys helping homeowners create a landscape with a great sense of design, color, and individuality.
